First Saturday / September 2026

Our regular Cornafulla Micro Reserve First Saturday brought people together at Cornafulla Bog to learn how to use spotting scopes with Pat Dunning of Breeding Waders EIP and we discussed how to record wildlife observations on the National Biodiversity Data Centre. We also discussed the Merlin bird app developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the Seek app developed by iNaturalist and ObsIdentify developed by Observation.org Biodiversity Citizen Science & Monitoring.

7 November at 11am – Archaeologists Dr Ellen O’Carroll and Cathy Moore on the archaeological sites and artefacts of Cornafulla Bog, including the recently identified yew roughout found on Cornafulla Bog.
